Hello Everyone!
Today I decided to do a soft purple smokey eye, with the same dark rose/mauve blush as the last look and a pink lip. Here are the pics and descriptions of what I used!
Brushes:
- MAC 252SE from the Tartan collection
- Loew-Cornell Maxine's Mop art brush in 1/4 of an inch
- Sephora Professionnel dome shadow brush
- Sephora Professionnel crease brush
- Random free spoolie
Face:
- Laura Mercier Face Primer
- MAC Pro Longwear SPF 10 Foundation in NC20
- Wet n Wild blush (don't know the color name)
- Studio Fix powder in NC30
Eyes:
-Too Faced shadow insurance
- Revlon CustomEyes in Rich Temptations
-Lancome Color Design palette, Ombre Mono Effects Sensationnel (I used the color Daylight as a brow highlight)
- MAC Shadowy Lady
- MAC Lingering brow pencil
- Amazing Cosmetics brow gel
- Maybelline eye lash curler
- Covergirl Lash Blast Volume in Black
Lips
- NYX Diamond Sparkle lipstick in Sparkling Salmon
For the eyes I used the Revlon palette and I put the lightest color on the inner half of the lid and the pink color on the outer half. I then blended MAC's shadowy lady into the crease. I used the lancome white color as a brow highlight and that's about it! Quick and simple.
A quick note on the Revlon palette thing... I would NOT recommend you buy it. For some reason I have two of these, in different shades, and I guess I thought they would be amazing because of the beautiful crochet imprint and their silky texture. I was so wrong. They have no pigment and it took me at least 10 minutes to even get some sort of color onto my lid. I love Revlon products, especially their foundations, but this little "shadow and liner" thing sort of missed the mark for me. Let me know if you've tried it and had different results! Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Anywho, hope you are all having a great day! Leave any questions, comments or requests below!
Love,
Christel

Hey Everyone! Welcome to my blog, Gray by Gray. A take on "Day by Day" but named after my favorite nail polish. I am a college student who loves to get lost in the beauty of makeup and nail polish. I will be posting nail of the day posts, face of the day posts, possibly some outfits and every now and then a video or two. Follow if you want to stay updated!

Nail and Face of the day!
Hey Everyone! I hope all is well, and if it's not? Keep your chin up, it gets better :).
I decided to paint my nails Gray by Gray in honor of my blog name. Just so you could all see my inspiration, and of course to show you my favorite nail color! Base coat is Sally Hansen Diamond Shine, then two coats of color and then Sally Hansen Insta-Dri (absolute BEST top coat).
Then on my face I have Laura Mercier face primer, then Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer in Sand. The lighting makes it look like my face is much lighter than my neck, but I promise its not... I need to charge my good camera and get some better quality photos. No worries, I'll do it ASAP, but I wanted to get this post up. Anywho, my blush is a wet n wild blush, but for some reason I took off the label so I have no idea what the name is. It is a beautiful darker rose color. On my eyes I have Naked all over the lid (from the Naked Palette) and then Buck in the crease for just a natural easy look. Lastly, for liner and mascara I have MAC smolder eye kohl on my upper lash line, blended out and then the new Great Lash mascara, which I love btw! Let me know if you want a review on it!
OH, I forgot my brows! Just some simple MAC brow pencil in lingering and some Anastasia brow gel.
That's the look! Sorry it is so wordy... I'll get used to this blog stuff soon enough! Hope you all enjoyed and have a great night!
Love,
Christel

First Post!
So I just sat down at my computer and started to fool around on stumbleupon when I decided, what the heck, why not make a blog?!? So here I am... and I have no idea what to say. I started collecting makeup when I was pretty young and within the past few years I've gotten into the more high end brands and better quality makeup. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE my drug store/high street makeup but sometimes there is nothing quite like a MAC eyeshadow or a Benefit blush. So, as I continue to ramble I guess I'll write about what I'll be posting on here. As I mess around with my makeup and create looks, the ones that pass the "test" will be posted on here! I will take any requests you might have and might move onto tutorials depending on what the response is : ). I paint my nails almost every day and have a ton of nail polish so posts regarding nails might be more prominent. Oh! And the title, you might be wondering, is the name of my favorite Sally Hansen Salon Manicure nail polish called Gray by Gray. So, stick around and follow! Hopefully this will turn into something great : ).
